In Similkameen, British Columbia two more Catholic Churches have been burned down reports CBC News. St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Upper Similkameen- Hedley, and Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Lower Similkameen were both burned down. The two Churches are near the Osoyoos Native Reserve. The Indian Band Chief of Lower Similkameen, Keith Crow explained the distress these incidences have caused. There is a Catholic following in the area and having these incidences might cause communal harm. The fire of the Upper Similkameen Church was confirmed as started shortly after the Lower Church’s fire. The RCMP has treated both these fires as suspicious and are looking into the relation to the other Church fires in Okanagan.
