As reported by infodimanche.com, two Catholic churches were vandalized with graffiti about a month ago in Rivere-du-Loup, Quebec.
The two churches were Saint-Francoise-Xavier and Saint-Patrice. The graffiti was found near to the right door of the Saint-Francoise-Xavier Church, and it was of inappropriate nature. Similarly, the same graffiti was found on the Saint-Patrice Church.
The Saint-Fracoise-Xavier Church was looking to removing the graffiti as soon as possible, facing difficulties to remove it as they might not have had any running water. According to Lucien Dube, president of the Fabrique of the Riviere-du-Loup, it would not have been able to foresee these costs as so high to remove the damages caused by the graffiti. They would have had to find another way to fix the damages.
Dube expressed his worry that by giving any coverage of this incident, it might make other criminals interested in taking similar actions as these. He did not say whether any investigation had been opened with the Surete du Quebec.
