Our Lady of Fatima Parish suffers a theft of four thousand dollars just a few days short of Christmas, reports Global News. The Church in Sydney, Nova Scotia held a fundraiser in which the money had been raised for holiday events. The cash was kept in the church’s secretary office. The priest, Fr. Patrick O’Neill noticed that the door was left open. Upon further inspection he realized it had been broken, and that the money had been taken. The Church’s surveillance camera caught the incident on tape, and Fr. O’Neill recognized the person who committed the act. He expressed his disappointment, however, he explained that he feels even worse that a person be driven to such an act, and wonders at what those circumstances may be. The Cape Breton Police have launched an investigation.
