On June 5 around 3:52 p.m. police officers in La Plaine received a call about a break-in at the st. Joachim Church in La Plaine, Quebec, reports La Revue.
The suspect was shortly thereafter arrested by police who found him walking on Laurier Boulevard. This man had already been on probation and had broken into the church, gaining access through a back door.
He broke the door and some windows, while doing so, sustained an injury to his hand. Captain Joel Lamarche states that the man was formally charged with breaking and entering, disrespecting the property of others, breach of probation, assault and threatening a police officer. The suspect was also in possession of stolen sacramental materials from the church.
