In Winnipeg, Manitoba, Sts. Vladimir and Olga Cathedral’s statue of St. Volodymyr has been decapitated by vandals, reports Global News. Along with the statues head, vandals also took the staff from the statue. Four days later the statue’s head had been returned. A Church spokesperson stated that a person had found the head in a duffel bag, but that the staff is still not returned as of yet. Residents of the area told a Church member that they had heard a noise in the early hours of Tuesday. Upon investigating the sounds, they realized what had happened to the statue. The statue had been blessed by Pope John Paull II when he visited Manitoba. It was made by local Winnipeg artist, Leo Mol. Winnipeg police are looking into the matter.
