The second church in Ebb and Flow First Nation, Manitoba, has been burned down, reports Global News.

The church, St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic was burned down around 5.a.m. according to a parishioner. The parishioner, Phyllis Racette stated that the church was active and in use, with the Bishop only having visited a few months ago.

The church’s arson comes a big loss to the community, with all sacraments- weddings, funerals, fundraisers and the like. Racette states that their had not been any determination of the cause of the fire.

The priest of St. Joseph’s, Fr. Jorge Mante has only been at the church for a month. He felt particularly saddened by the turn of events and feels deeply for the community’s loss.

Fr. Jorge explains that the community will have to continue services in the community hall and that the church did have insurance. There is an investigation that had been opened by RCMP.
