When mass was about to begin on Sunday at St. Christopher Church, the bell to be rung to signal that mass had started couldn’t have been because it was stolen reports CTV News.
The bell, which weighed roughly 400 pounds is worth a substantial amount of nearly 1,200$ and is of historic value to the Church, commented Ernie Heerschap, the parish council chair of St. Christopher.
The bell itself was founded in 1902, made by a woman named Maria in Maryland. Eventually the bell made its’ way to the St. Christopher parish during the 1960s.
The Church had reported the theft to the local police and also asked for public assistance in finding the bell, hoping for it to be found or returned. They also maintain that anyone call their parish office with any information or for those who may have found it to bring it there.
