As reported by the Windsor Star, vandals hit St. Alphonsus Roman Catholic Cemetery in Windsor, Ontario. Vandals tore off the bronzed vases and candle holders from the mausoleum walls, ripped flowers and cards from the tombs, and littered valuables and keepsakes from family members tomb sites. Some of these valuables and keepsakes were stolen. About fifty or so tomb sites were targeted. In total the damages resulted in over sixteen thousand dollars, to the families of those affected by the vandals. The Windsor Police have notified nearby pawn shops and scrap yards, believing that the vandals might have wanted to sell off the bronzed holders and vases. There is an on-going investigation.
