Sacred Heart of Jesus Statue Smashed to the Ground in Richmond, Quebec

DATE OF OCCURRENCE: March 24, 2016

Outside of the Sainte Bibiane Catholic Church in Richmond, Quebec, vandals have decimated the Sacred Heart Statue, laTribune reports. For the hefty amount of damage the statue will not be recovered, and it was an estimated value of $100, 000. The nature of the incidence proved to be a difficult case, considering that the statue is 20-25 ft. high and made of cast iron. The vice-president and the police were not sure how this was done as there was no evidence to suggest machinery involvement for the movement of the statue. There is an open investigation on the matter.
