Our Lady of Mercy Heritage Church in Port-au-Port, Newfoundland had been broken into but had nothing stolen, reports CBC News. In Newfoundland there had been a wave of small break-ins affecting the surrounding area. The Heritage Church suffered some damages to the window, doors and shed but no other evidences of stolen possessions or damages to the statues inside the Church had been reported. The doors and windows, and shed damages will be fixed. The historic Church is used only in the summer months for tours and events; it is not used for weekly masses any longer. The Heritage Church committee is asking for the community for any information regarding the incident.
