Merciful Redeemer Parish has been targeted with graffiti following a video that the parish priest released on YouTube outlining his thoughts on the discovery of the remains at the Kamloops Former Indian Residential School site, reports Insauga. Pastor Owen Keenan posted his homily, explaining how he felt that the Catholic Church had done some “good” in the residential schools, aside from the tragedies that occurred. Keenan stated that he felt no one had asked about the good done in the schools and because of it he faced serious backlash. CP24 reports that following this incident Keenan resigned and apologized for his insensitive remarks.
