A suspicious fire broke out at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Shrine and retreat centre in Cache Creek, British Columbia. RCMP and ambulances were called to the scene. A log cabin in the centre had been lit on fire around 10 p.m. that evening. The next day, investigations into property damage and vandalism had been made in conjunction with the fire incident. To note, a larger flower pot and metal chair had been misplaced, a shovel thrown into a tree, and a perpetrator had tried to steal a large air conditioning unit from a window. Some statues had also been toppled over. These incidents and the fire are yet to be considered as linked. No injuries were reported and no other buildings have been affected. Investigations are still ongoing.
