The Catholic Register reports that the historic Catholic Church, St. John the Baptist was broken into on September 19, and there was considerable damage: the statue of the Virgin Mary holding Jesus was broken, a statue of St. John the Baptist ruined, the tabernacle and candle-holders also damaged. Since the Church is not in continued use, save for one annual mass for the celebration of St. John the Baptist’s feast day, it was kept as a historic building. The RCMP were notified, however, there are no witnesses of the incident.
