In Bells Corners, Ottawa St. Martin de Porres Catholic Church was broken into and vandalized, reports the Ottawa Sun. The perpetrators are said to be three male suspects who left anti-Christian graffiti on the artwork and walls, items were stolen, windows and doors were smashed and broken and statues were knocked over. The tabernacle had been stolen. The nature of the graffiti was not only anti-Christian, but satanic and against the Pope. The parish priest was awoken by Staff Sergeant Kal Ghadban, at one-thirty in the morning to see the desecrated church. Sgt. Ghadban witnessed the three men getting away from the church carrying something large. Ghadban claims that this was the main reason for breaking into the church; monetary gains. The incident is being investigated as a hate crime and police are asking anyone with information to please contact them.
