The Ukrainian Weekly reports that the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Calgary, Alberta has been vandalized with graffiti and defacement of the property on Canada Day. In Alberta more than ten Churches have been targeted following the release of the announcement that remains have been found at Former Residential School sites across the country. The Ukrainian Canadian Civil Liberties Association (UCCLA) condemns this action and expects the case to be looked at as a hate crime.
