On September 18, a fire broke out at St. Joseph’s Parish in Ottawa, reports Catholic Register. On September 18 at 3 A.M. the Ottawa Police Service Arson Unit were called to the scene and are actively investigating.
The fire effected a recycling shed and because of the shed’s location caused significant damage to the wall of the church that it was placed in front of. The police stated that there was evidence of drug material also found at the site of the fire. The recycling shed played a vital role in the church’s St. Joe’s Supper Table Meal and their ministry for food sharing and outreach.
Christopher Adam, the church’s executive director has stated on the church’s facebook page that there is an investigation being done at the this time.
