Markham, Ont. March 5, 2007 Application for Leave to Appeal to the Supreme Court of Canada was filed today in the AA v BB case.
Don Hutchinson, spokesperson for the intervenor Alliance for Marriage and Family, of which the League is a member, stated, This case is the first of its kind in Canada. If left unchallenged, Ontario Court of Appeals decision will have a profound impact on all types of families. The case raises an issue of public and national importance that warrants the consideration and guidance of the Supreme Court of Canada.
