OTTAWA, March 11, 2009 – The Catholic Civil Rights League is pleased once again to support the national March for Life, taking place in Ottawa May 13 to 15. Events begin Wednesday, May 13th with a Mass at St. Theresa’s Parish at 7:30 pm followed by a Candlelight Vigil at the Canadian Tribute to Human Rights Monument. On May 14th there is a Mass at Notre Dame Cathedral and a prayer service at St. George Anglican Church, both at 10 am. At noon, the gathering begins on Parliament Hill with the introduction of dignitaries and select speeches.
The March through the downtown streets begins at 1:30 pm and it will take about an hour. At 2:45, the Silent No More Awareness Campaign will have men and women damaged by abortion make presentations on the harm they experienced from abortion. At 4 pm, there will be closing prayers on the Hill. The evening reception begins at 6 pm, followed at 7 pm by the Rose Dinner (advance purchase required). A youth conference will follow May 15.
