TORONTO, Oct. 14, 2010 – Most of our members will be receiving Fall development appeal letters this week, and we know you will be as generous as possible. We hope to raise about $25,000 over and above normal membership renewals in order to maintain our current level of service.
Our complete financial picture will be available in our annual report, to be issued at the end of the month. It will show that while member and patron donations remain fairly healthy, the benefactor level has shrunk substantially. This is why we ask all our supporters to try to attract new members, since that is the only way to improve our financial base in the long run.
Many people find that our monthly donor plan (available through Visa, MC or auto-debit) helps them keep their support manageable. It helps us as well, by providing steady income throughout the year and reducing our administrative costs. (Monthly donors do not receive renewal notices or fundraising letters.) Others prefer to donate once or twice a year. Whatever your choice, your generosity is greatly appreciated.
