Mississauga.com reports that a man has been charged in connection with multiple offences against multiple places of worship, and residential and commercial properties.

On April 2, a man broke into and stole from St. Therese Catholic Church an amount of donations from the charity box. On the same day, St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church had also been broken into with some money stolen and property damages done.

2 days later, the Islamic Centre of Clarington had also been broken into with money stolen and property damages as well.

The man charged, James Briand, 49 years-old, faces charges of up to 50 counts. He faces break-and-enter charges and for theft under $5,000.

According to police there have also been recent break ins at other places of worship, including Durham and Oshawa during the months of January to March. Police are not sure of whether these incidents are related to the crimes of James Briand.
