On the evening of April 27, 2021, Our Lady of the Snow Church in Owl River was burned down, reports LakelandToday.
Fire crews came to the scene of the church at 11:10 p.m. on April 27. The two storey wooden structure was collapsing and the roof had already been burned down. After the fire was put out, nothing was left of it. Lac La Biche opened a fire investigation.
The origin of the fire has been determined as suspicious in nature as put forward by Protective Services Manager, Regional Fire Chief, John Kokotilo.
Firefighters also made sure to water down the surrounding area of trees, ensuring that the fire did not spread.
Our Lady of the Snow Church was built in 1934 and had been on the property for more than 80 years. It had been condemned and was for sale for awhile. It was owned by the Catholic Diocese of St. Paul.
