In Edmonton, Alberta, a lady named Barbara put in a call to the St. Anthony Cemetery authorities to inform them that a bronze vase had been stolen from her brother’s headstone, leaving the gravesite with damages, reports CityNews.

The lady, Barbara, had been visiting her family gravesite when she noticed that her brother’s site had been tampered with. The bronze vase was gone. She also saw that his tombstone had been moved.

Barbara has asked the public to help aid her in finding the vase, noting that it is a painful experience to damage a final resting place.

The St. Anthony Cemetery had protocol to follow after being informed of the incident, and the Mission Services Cemeteries Lead for the Catholic Archdiocese of Edmonton Catholic Cemeteries, Darryl Tymchuk, has noted that there is now a police report for the incident.

The cemetery also suffered not just Barbara’s brother’s headstone being damaged, but several others. Tymchuk asks that any other families who notice their family’s gravesites with damages to please contact the Archdiocese.
