The CCRL’s President and General Counsel, Phil Horgan, recently appeared before the Supreme Court of Canada as legal counsel for the Canadian Conference of Catholic Bishops (CCCB) to intervene in the landmark challenge against Quebec’s secularism law, Bill 21.

CCRL Statement on Liberal – Bloc Québécois Agreement on Bill C-9
The Catholic Civil Rights League seeks to raise alarm over the apparent agreement between the governing Liberal Party and the Bloc Québécois which provides for the passage of Bill C-9, which will seriously affect religious freedom of expression by denying a good faith defence arising from reliance upon religious texts or scriptural references.
