Dear Supporters and Friends of the CCRL,
Our president Phil Horgan, executive director Christian Elia, and our board members from across Canada wish all of you a blessed Triduum in anticipation of the joy which accompanies the Resurrection of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.

We thank all of you who joined us in writing PM Justin Trudeau in protest of the government’s pledge of $650 million in aid, of which at least $40 million will specifically be directed at funding abortions overseas. Our letter can be found by clicking here.
In Ontario, Bill-84 has been sent to third reading with no amendments in place supporting healthcare workers who refuse to take part in assisted suicide and euthanasia. Although they may not be forced to kill patients themselves, doctors are being compelled to provide an effective referral to another agent who will. This is a grave violation of conscience, unacceptable to Catholics and millions of other Canadians of other denominations, faiths, and those with no faith at all. Our submission may be found here.
Fortunately, not all news is grim. Next week we will announce the 2017 recipient of the Archbishop Adam Exner Award for Catholic Excellence in Public Life, along with details of our Spring Dinner, currently scheduled for June 19.
Let us all focus our attention on the Paschal Mystery and let us truly rejoice in His Resurrection. Let us remember that the war is already won, but we are asked to witness to the faith, at times heroically.
Let us pray for the courage to maintain such witness for the sake of our own salvation and those of our brethren, as we work to build the City of God within the more and more hostile city of man.
