Toronto, ON April 1, 2021 – Last year in our Holy Week message of 2020 we at the Catholic Civil Rights League (CCRL) asked our supporters and friends to place crucifixes in their windows and on their front porches to demonstrate a public witness to our faith from Holy Thursday to Easter Sunday as an outward sign of the veneration of the cross.

For Eastertide we proposed hanging banners reading Christ is Risen or He arose and appeared to many.

We propose the same this year as regulations and public health orders remain in place in every province and territory, restricting our access to our churches.

We ask that you take pictures of your outward display of faith and that you email them to us so that we may share these powerful images of our crucified and risen Lord.

Let us indeed evangelize in these difficult days.

We are citizens of another Kingdom, the heavenly Jerulsalem. Jesus Christ is our King and to Him do we owe our greatest allegiance.

In the face of these current limitations, let’s not hide our light under bushel baskets. Let us choose the lampstand.

We appeal to any of you not financially impacted by the Covid-19 pandemic, who may wish to accomplish more almsgiving by sending a donation to the CCRL by clicking here or by mailing a cheque to the CCRL at 2305 Bloor Street West, Toronto, ON, M6S 1P1, or by calling the office at (416) 466-8244 or 1-844-722-2275 (CCRL).
