TORONTO, Oct. 27, 2009 – Our Fall development appeal is underway. We need a healthy response from all our supporters, including, we hope, some new supporters, in order to continue functioning at a viable level. The economic downturn of the past year has caused a significant drop in donations. We would like to tell you about our exciting plans for this, our Silver Anniversary year, but frankly our financial situation is making long-range planning difficult.

The League is one of Canada’s most trusted sources for a fair hearing for Church teaching, particularly in the media and in public policy. With the support of our members, we have been able to advocate for respect for life, particularly in response to current pressures to liberalize euthanasia laws.  We are also known for our staunch support for the right to express religious beliefs publicly, without penalties for discrimination or other state intrusions.

We trust you’ll agree that our initiatives are of value. Your prayers, financial gift, complimentary memberships or invitations to address Church and school groups will help us come out of this crisis on a stronger footing than ever before. Here are some ways you can help:

* Please consider joining our monthly donor plan, which gives you the convenience of spreading out your support through smaller donations throughout the year. This plan is available via Visa, Mastercard or pre-authorized debits from your bank account.

* Online credit card donations can be made securely here.

* To donate by postal mail: Cheques, or Visa or Mastercard instructions, should be sent to: CCRL, 500 – 120 Eglinton Ave. E., Toronto, Ont. M4P 1E9.

The League is supported entirely by individual donations. Be assured that your contribution of any type or amount is much appreciated. Thank you very much for your generous response.
