TORONTO, March 21, 2005 – The Catholic Civil Rights League (www.ccrl.ca) is happy to announce a gala dinner in celebration of its 20th anniversary. The event will take place Thursday evening, April 21 at Ellas Banquet Hall,
35 Danforth Rd., Toronto.
The league has accomplished a great deal in 20 years and we want to celebrate that, says Phil Horgan, president of CCRL. We also want to start an award to recognize the achievement and dedication of one outstanding individual each year out of the many who are active in promoting Church teachings in the public square.
Tickets are $65 each or $600 for a table of 10, with all proceeds to benefit the leagues educational and civil rights initiatives. The evening will include a talk by Father Thomas A. Lynch, dean of studies at St. Augustines Seminary, and the introduction and presentation of the Archbishop Adam Exner Award for Catholic Excellence in Public Life.
