Toronto, ON July 8, 2019 – The Catholic Civil Rights League (CCRL) is pleased to report that the Hollywood Blockbuster film Unplanned is finally being screened in Canada, albeit for one week only beginning on Friday, July 12.
Unplanned was released on March 29 in the United States and it has exceeded expectations both in critical acclaim and box office revenue. It is the true story of former Planned Parenthood clinic director Abby Johnson and her radical conversion from abortion provider to prolife leader. Ms. Johnson spoke at Parliament Hill at this year’s March for Life in Ottawa and at the Rose Dinner.
Until now, Canadian distributers refused to screen the film on the grounds that it was too controversial in nature. The League commends the efforts of prolife organizations in Canada and the thousands of Canadians who successfully petitioned so that we might have the opportunity to see Unplanned beginning this Friday, July 12 for one week only.
