TORONTO, ON April 15, 2016 – On April 14 the federal government introduced legislation in the House of Commons for the provision of euthanasia and assisted suicide in Canada. The Catholic Civil Rights League (CCRL) reposted a statement from the Archbishop of Toronto, Thomas Cardinal Collins.

The CCRL continues to study Bill C-14 so that we may issue our own analysis next week along with a call to action.

Today we urge our supporters to read the statement made by the Canadian Conference of Catholic Bishops (CCCB) and the statement made by Archbishop of Vancouver J. Michael Miller, CSB.

Douglas Farrow, Professor of Christian Thought at McGill University issued the following statement on Bill C-14. Prof. Farrow, who will be the guest speaker at the CCRL Spring Dinner on June 2 in Toronto, had earlier released Canadian Culture of Death: An Open Letter published in First Things on March 3.
